Runestone at Stortjäran
In the parish of Fasterna, there is a runestone, a stone with a remarkable history. In 1952, the stone, which is just over two and a half meters tall, was erected and is located about 90 meters north of the Rimbo – Uppsala highway and 100 meters east of the access road to Stortjäran. The remarkable aspect of the stone is that it had been broken, and until 1948, only the lower part of the stone was known. The remaining parts were found in 1948 in the water off Fagerudden in Skedviken, a location just over three kilometers from the base. Today, the stone is reassembled from four parts, one of which lacks runes and replaces a missing piece.
